Account Code – Voluntary / Forced / Verified
9.1
Description
Account Codes can be entered at any extension voluntarily to record an association
of the call in progress in detailed records output from the Emerald ICE system
(SMDR). Alternatively, an extension may be forced to enter an account code to
make certain LINE calls or before any LINE calls can be made. The account code
length is predetermined and programmed to be from 2 to 8 digits. When Forced to
use an account code, the extension is restricted to certain call criteria via that
extension's programmed Class of Service. This initial Class of Service is bypassed
by entering an Account Code that is assigned a new Class of Service. This Class is
in effect for the duration of consecutive use at this extension. This new Class may
itself have some level of restriction.
Six Hundred Entries are possible in the Account Code Table per Tenant. When an
Account Code is entered by a user it is verified against this table. If no match is
found, the call attempt is denied. This simple rule, allows for Forced Account
Code entry when the extension has been assigned a COS that does not have
outdialing priviledges. When an Account Code is verified, the specific call attempt
is allocated a new COS associated to the code entered. This COS may be the same
as that of the extension or a temporary new assignment for this call whereby the
number being dialed is allowed.
