Introduction Emerald ICE Cordless Handset Introduction The Emerald ICE Cordless EKT phone set connects to the Emerald ICE phone system to provide powerful and convenient cordless functions for the business user. Hand Set Base Unit Each handset is equipped with a charging unit that operates via 9VDC Power Adapter.

Emerald ICE Corless Handset Quick Start Guide The system provides a simple setup function to install the cord- less system easily. The user simply presses and holds the [F1] key for 1 second. The system will then automatically enter the System Programming mode.

Introduction The user can then use the above programming function keys to set up 3 different LED flash cadences as follows: Normal Operation: LED Flashes [Normally]: 500ms on, 500ms off, repeatedly. In Normal mode, the user can make/receive a call by the handset unit through the base unit.

System Registration System Registration Registration programming allows a handset user to register the handset to the Base Unit. In summary; Power up the base unit and enter the registration mode on the base unit. Select the handset and set it to registration mode. Move the handset near the base.

System Registration You can select [YES] to register, or [NO] to exit this mode. Press [F3] (the same as [OK] key) to confirm, the LCD will display: (e.g. [YES]) Move the handset near the base. The system will start to register with the base unit.

System Registration Note: The LED on the base will flash [Fast] when enter the de- registration mode. De-register Handset #1. Turn DIP SWITCH-3 to ON, and SWITCH-1 and SWITCH- 2 to OFF. Extra Functions Extra Functions The Emerald ICE cordless system provides more information for RF Link status and Battery Power status. The user can eas- ily find the current handset status about the RF Link and Batter status. Note: 1. All new information about RF and Battery status will be displayed on the row-1 of the LCD.
Emerald ICE Corless Handset Quick Start Guide Out Of Range Status If the handset is in talk mode and the user is an extended dis- tance away from the Base Unit, the handset will display [OUT OF RANGE] and generate the warning beep per 5 seconds: If the user does not return to close proximity of the Base Unit, the call will be dropped within 30 seconds.
Extra Functions Ring and Vibrator Status If a user sets [Ring mode] only, a [Ring] icon will appear on the LCD. If a user selects [Vibrator mode] only, (( )) will appear on the LCD. If a user selects [Ring and Vibrator mode], both icons will be displayed on the LCD.

Extra Functions When handset is in the key locked mode and long keypress [Flash], The LCD will display a 3-second display as follows: If a user presses the key [F3] within 3 seconds, the handset will be in key unlock mode. Note: The [Flash] key will be changed to [TRANSFER] key in some models.

System Limitations Extra Functions Registration and De-Registration All registration and de-registration functions can operate during the 1 one minute only, therefore, the user must remove the base power and re-power on the base unit to register or de-reg- ister the system.
