Checking the exhaust manifold, oil
pan, and exhaust guide
1. Check the exhaust manifold, oil pan, and
exhaust guide. Replace if cracked or cor-
roded.
NOTE:
Clean the removed parts before checking
them.

Checking the oil strainer

1. Check the oil strainer. Clean if there is
dirt or residue.

Assembling the upper case

1. Install the exhaust manifold 1 to the
upper case 2, and then tighten the
exhaust manifold bolts 3 to the specified
torque.

Upper case and steering arm
Exhaust manifold bolt 3:
11 N·m (1.1 kgf·m, 8.1 ft·lb)
2. Install a new oil seal 4 into the exhaust
guide 5.

Needle bearing attachment 7:

3. Install the oil strainer 8, the dowels 9,
and a new gasket = onto the exhaust
guide 5.
