CDM-570L/570AL Satellite Modem with Optional Packet Processor
Appendix D
Each CDM-IP would select the HDLC address associated with its site as a RX HDLC Address.
Therefore, for this case:
The Hub CDD-564/L Demodulators 1, 2, and 3 would have 0x01 as the first RX HDLC Address;
Remote 'A' CDM-IP would have 0x02;
Remote 'B' CDM-IP would have 0x03;
Remote 'C' CDM-IP would have 0x04.
The Hub CDM-IP 1 has static routes defined for each of the remote CDM-IP subnets with the
Next Hop HDLC address being the HDLC address associated with the remote site. All three
remote CDM-IP modems have default routes to the satellite with the Next Hop HDLC address
being 0x01. The Hub CDD-564/L Demodulator has a default route (ToEth) to the Hub CDM-IP
modem because all outbound traffic will go through the CDM-IP modem.
Additional remote sites can be added through a dedicated demodulator at the hub for each
remote.
Table D-9. Router Point-to-MultiPoint Mode with Streamline Encapsulation
Router Point-to-MultiPoint Mode with Streamline Encapsulation only applies to
CDM-IPs and CDD-564/L IPs operating with the CDM570A/570AL-IP Modem.
Table D-9 shows a Router Mode, Point-To-MultiPoint network using Streamline Encapsulation.
This is functionally identical to the Point-To-MultiPoint network using HDLC, except that it
requires no configuration of HDLC addressing on the CDM-IPs.
