Function
(Remote Control) Used to define whether the modem is being controlled
6.3.2.1
locally, or remotely.
This submenu is highly recommended for new users, as it leads you through
6.3.2.2
the complete modem configuration process on a step-by-step basis.
(Transmit) Used to define, on a per-parameter basis, the Tx configuration of
6.3.2.3
the unit. These menu submenu branches would be used if you wished to
change, for example, just the Tx Frequency..
(Receive) Used to define, on a per-parameter basis, the Rx configuration of the
6.3.2.4
unit. These menu submenu branches would be used if you wished to change,
for example, just the Rx data rate.
6.3.2.5
(Clock Extension) Used to define the G.703 Clock Extension interface.
(Framing) Used to define operation in a transparent mode (no framing) or in a
framed mode. In the framed mode, an overhead of 5% or 1.6% is added to the
6.3.2.6
rate transmitted over the satellite so that M&C and AUPC information may be
passed to the distant end.
(Data Traffic Interface) Used to define RS422, IP, RS232, V.35, G.703, or IP-
ACM data traffic interfaces.
6.3.2.7
IP and IP-ACM are available only when the optional High-
Performance Packet Processor is installed.
(Reference) Used to define whether the modem should use its own internal
6.3.2.8
10MHz reference, or phase lock to an externally applied reference and, if so, at
what frequency.
(Alarm Mask) Used to mask certain alarms that may cause operational
6.3.2.9
problems.
Used to select DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier (CnC) options.
6.3.2.10
Appendix G. DOUBLETALK CARRIER-IN-CARRIER (CNC)
(Outdoor Unit) For the CDM/R-570AL only – Used to configure a BUC (Block
Up Converter) or LNB (Low-Noise Block Down Converter), if connected.
