PWE Card
If using SFPs, ensure SFP in the connected device matches the one in the PWE card
and that the correct fiber is being used.
Ensure the Ethernet speed and duplex mode on the connected device matches what
is provisioned on the PWE card.
Verify the cabling is not faulty.
2. Ensure the IP parameters (IP Address, Subnet Mask, & IP Gateway) are configured
correctly on the PWE card.
3. On the PW circuit, ensure the far end information is correct.
4. Attempt to ping the far end card to ensure network connectivity exists. If the ping fails,
ping each intermediate node to see where network connectivity is failing.
5. Attempt to ping the PWE card from an external devices connected to the same network.

24.5.2 Clock failing to lock

If the PW is up and the clock is not locking:
1. On the PW circuit, ensure the far end information is correct.
2. Review the Ethernet statistics screen to see if these are any errors.
3. Make certain that only one end is set for adaptive clock recovery, and the other end is set
to master.

24.5.3 Excessive errors in data services / excessive voice echo

If you are experiencing excessive errors in data services or excessive echo in voice services
check the following:
1. Ensure that the jitter buffer it tuned appropriately. (Note: a larger jitter buffer will also
introduce more latency in the packet transfer time.)
2. Ensure that the network between nodes is not congested. Congested nodes in the network
will add latency to the packet transfer time and may cause packets to be lost.
