OHSU Card Description

Alarm conditions that are now reported from the OHSU to the main UI screen are:
LOS - Loss of Signal Alarm
OOF - Out of Frame Alarm
RED - Red Alarm
YEL - Yellow Alarm
This new alarm reporting feature is done by use of polling the cards for an alarm. The
8000-OHSU-4P cards can have four ports each, and if the shelf has all eight user card slots
filled with four-port OHSU cards, the amount of possible alarms could create conditions on
the IMACS to miss other important events. In order to prevent other events from being missed,
each card port is interrogated at 1-second intervals for any ports reporting an alarm
condition. These alarms will in turn be transported to the user interface and a corresponding
alarm raised as appropriate. Due to the polling nature, it is possible for a card port to go into
alarm and fifteen seconds transpire prior to the alarm being raised to the user. This apparent
delay is intentional and protects the alarm integrity of the IMACS 8000 platform.
