DNS name or NetBIOS name for the Windows 2000 domain
controller.
6. Select [Join Domain...].
7. In the Active Directory Services Login dialog, enter in the User
Name and Password that matches the information that was
used when creating the user account for the system as
described in step 1 above.
8. Click [OK].
9. Note that three boxes are provided for mapping ADS network
groups to the three user account groups (administrators (sa),
operators, users) permitted to log on to the printer. Modify the
ADS network group names, as required, to reflect the network
group names being used in your Microsoft Active Directory
Services domain.
10. Click [OK].
Logging on to the system with ADS user names
From the Logon menu, users select [ADS] for authentication, then
log on to the system with their ADS user names and passwords.
As stated above, ADS network groups must have been mapped to
the three user account groups (administrators (sa), operators,
users) permitted to log on to the printer. This mapping provides
ADS logged in users with their appropriate operating privileges on
the printer.
Encoding defines the character encoding scheme that is expected
by each of the available gateways. Most of the options for each
gateway are specific to Japanese character sets. For non-
Japanese installations, select ISOLatin.
Setting up encoding
To set the encoding option:
1. Select [Gateways...] from the Setup menu.
2. Select the Encoding tab.
3. Depending on your system configuration select a language
from the Netware, Lp/Lpr, and/or AppleTalk pull-down menus.
4. For non-Japanese installations, select [ISOLatin].
5. Select [OK].
