Image Quality Options FAB
The Image Quality tab > Options FAB contains options that can be
set by novice users as well as advanced users. These options are:
•
Trapping
–
an image processing technique used to compensate for
misregistration in a print engine or press. Misregistration
results in white gaps and shifted hues.
–
can be set by selecting the corresponding check box.
For additional information, see: Setting up Trapping
•
Black Overprint
–
an Image Quality enhancement process performed during
RIP that prevents the background of a black object from
being removed. With the black being printed over the other
color layers, any misregistration in the print engine or
press will not result in white gaps.
–
can be set by selecting the corresponding check box
•
Anti-Aliasing
–
a method for reducing the jagged appearance (caused by
rasterization) of curves and diagonal lines. Anti-aliasing
enhances the smoothness of such curves and lines.
–
can be set by selecting the corresponding check box
Print as Grayscale is located at the top of the Image Quality tab.
