Logon and Password Security
The DocuSP GUI contains a menu item called Logon, enabling
you to logon, logoff, and change your password.
You must logon to the DocuSP system before you can use all the
available features. You can manually type your logon information
or use the pull-down menu. The default logon options are: User,
Operator, and System Administrator. If ADS is available then the
Logon To menu can be selected. The Logon Message field
provides specific logon messages.
Logon
To logon to the system:
1. From the Logon menu select [Logon...]. The current user
name displays in the title bar of the Logon window. To log on
you need to know your user group and user password.
If Login Attempts Allowed is enabled, you will have between 1
and 6 login attempts before you are locked out of the system.
You are warned on the next to last login attempt that your
account will be locked if you do not enter the correct login
information. If your account is locked or if you need assistance
prior to a lockout, contact your System Administrator.
There are three user types that are allowed access to the
DocuSP controller:
• User: The Walk Up User has minimum access rights on
the controller. This is the default user when the system is
started up. The Walk Up User is not required to logon or
enter a password.
• Operator: The Operator requires a logon and a password
and has restricted access on the controller. The Operator
level is designated for the Print Operator.
• System Administrator: The System Administrator
requires a logon and a password and has restricted access
on the controller, however the System Administrator has
fewer restrictions than the Operator. The System
Administrator can access and control all system and job
data except service data and service functions.
