3. Select [Configure Remote Services...] from the Options menu.
4. Enter your HTTP Proxy Server name (IP address) and HTTP
Proxy Port number.
5. Enter the Proxy User name and Proxy Password (if required
by your Proxy server).
6. Select [OK], then [Close].
Enabling HTTP
The Hyper Text Transport Protocol (HTTP) Gateway provides bi-
directional communication, and enables customers to submit a
document file over the web from a workstation for printing on a
Xerox printing system. With the HTTP Gateway you use a browser
to access windows that enable you to select a document file, set
up a job ticket, and submit your print job to the printer. More

The home page provides the following functionality:
– Print: Submit "print ready" jobs (i.e. PostScript, PCL,
PDF, TIFF, ASCII) with Xerox Job Ticket features. Note
that if you do not have a valid PostScript license, the
system does not process PostScript jobs.
– Administration: View printer, queue and job statuses.
Access to the administrative information is available
following a System Administrator login.
– Resources: Obtain updates by accessing "hot links"
for application software, drives and documentation.
– Support: Access a directory listing of your Xerox and
local support contacts.
To verify that the HTTP Gateway is licensed and enabled:
1. Logon to the DocuSP Controller as a System Administrator.
2. Select [Feature Licenses...] from the Setup menu.
3. If necessary, expand the Ethernet Network selection.
4. Right click on the horizontal selection line labeled [HTTP
Gateway] and select [Properties...].
5. In the Properties window, make sure that the [Activate] radio
button under the License heading is selected.
6. Ensure that the [Enable] radio button under the Feature
heading is selected.
7. Make sure that HTTP Gateway is the name displayed under
the License Name heading.
8. The License String field should be filled in with a lengthy string
of characters (letters and numbers). If this is not the case,
contact your Xerox representative.
9. Verify that the license expiration date is accurate. Make
changes if necessary.
