changed by a Trusted User or Administrator. Fully Adjustable
tray settings can be changed by all users.
Coating: Indicates if the tray contains coated or uncoated
stock.
Priority: Displays a priority between 1 (highest priority) and 99
(lowest priority) for the tray. The default priority setting is 50.
Each tray is assigned a priority. The priority tells the system
the order in which the trays should be processed. All jobs in
the tray with the highest priority are processed before jobs in
trays with lower priorities. If a priority is not set, a default
priority is assigned to the tray when it is set up. If more than
one tray has the same priority, the tray are processed in
repeating succession.
You can access the Tray menu by performing the following:
Selecting a tray and using the Tray pull-down menu.
Right-clicking a listed tray.
Selecting a tray and using the toolbar icons.
NOTE: For menu selections specific to color printers, see Color
Management for additional information.
The Tray menu enables you to view tray properties or perform a
variety of functions on the paper tray. Printer configuration
determines which of the following selections are available:
Properties: Opens the Tray [n] properties dialog, which
enables you to select or specify characteristics of a paper
stock that is being assigned to the selected tray.
NOTE: If you change the paper stock programming for a tray,
you must open and load the paper before closing the Paper
Stock window.
Append/Remove Stock: Opens the Append/Remove Stock
window, which allows you to assign additional stock names to
a tray or remove stock names from a tray. This option is not
available unless Allow Multiple Stocks Per Paper Tray is
enabled. For additional information see Stocks and Trays
NOTE: To be appended to a tray, the new stock must be
identical to the one currently assigned to that tray in all
characteristics specified on the Append Stock window (size,
color, type, and weight), except its name. If the stock you want
to delete is the only stock programmed for this tray, the system
does not allow you to delete it.
Enable Tray: Enables the selected tray for use.
Disable Tray: Disables the selected tray so that it cannot be
used.
