2. Select the user access level, either System Administrator or
Operator from the User pull-down menu or enter specific logon
details which were supplied to you by the System
Administrator.
3. Enter a password.
4. The Logon To menu is only present within the Logon dialog if
ADS has been configured. The default selection is ADS
Domain. For additional information regarding ADS Groups see
Logging on to the system with ADS user names.
5. Select [OK].
NOTE: To maintain security, the logon passwords should be
changed after the system has been installed and at regular
intervals.
Logoff
It is recommended that you logoff from the system once you have
completed using the system. If the Default Logoff is enabled then
the system automatically logs you off after a certain period of
inactivity.
From the Logon menu select [Logoff...]. The default user screen
displays.
To maintain system security, the logon passwords for the System
Administrator and Operator should be changed after the system
has been installed and at regular intervals thereafter.
Changing passwords
Only the System Administrator has the authority to set and change
the passwords for the System Administrator and Operator.
Individual users can change their own passwords. Passwords can
be either weak or strong passwords. Weak passwords consist of
three to eight alphanumeric characters, while strong passwords
demand additional character entry rules.
To change passwords:
1. Log on as a System Administrator.
2. Select [Change Password...] from the Logon menu.
3. Type the current password in the Old Password field. Typed
characters appear as asterisks.
4. Type the new password. If you do not know if you are using
weak or strong passwords, contact your System Administrator.
Weak and strong password entries are determined as follows:
• If you are using strong passwords, the following password
