by the base model DocuSP controller - see note below). If
this setting is greater than 1, the feature will appear in the
Queue Properties tab in Queue Manager; at the Queue
level you will be able to enable or disable the feature,
provided that it is set to greater than 1 in the Job
Processing Preferences tab.
NOTE: This feature is currently supported for PostScript,
PDF, VIPP, and ASCII formats. In addition, the number of
parallel RIPs available will scale proportionately to the
number of CPUs and memory added to a system. The
values described above are meant to be taken as a
general rule of thumb; depending on your system's
configuration, you may have greater, or fewer, parallel
RIPs available. Generally, it is good practice to use the
number of parallel RIPs displayed in the Recommended
window. This feature will only be available if a valid license
is obtained.
h. Page Parallel RIP (PPR) enables DocuSP to split a large
job into chunks that are delivered to multiple instances of
the Adobe PostScript interpreter where they all RIP
simultaneously. Batches or streams of small jobs will also
benefit from PPR. The multiple interpreter instances will
handle a stream of small job in parallel as well.Select a
Scan Job option:
Automatically Delete: This is the default selection.
Scan jobs are automatically deleted after a specified
period of time, with the default set to 120 hours. When
this option is selected, the time period to automatically
delete jobs can be entered. The time period for Days
can be set from 1 to 30. The time period for Hours can
be set from 1 to 720. Time period controls are
unavailable when Retain Until Manually Deleted is
selected.
Retain Until Manually Deleted: Scan jobs are
retained until manually deleted. Time period controls
are unavailable.
3. Select [OK] to apply your changes and exit the dialog window.
Setting the Job Policy
Use the Job Policy tab to select how the system handles certain
types of jobs. Available selections within the Job Policy tab
depend on the printer configuration.
To set the job policy:
1. Select [System Preferences...] from the Setup menu.
2. Choose the Job Policy tab.
3. Select the appropriate Finishing Set Size Fault to specify how
