IPP
Internet Print Protocol (IPP) is a standard for printing over the
Internet. The IPP client generates printing and status instructions
to be received and processed by the DocuSP IPP gateway. The
System Administrator must configure the IPP Gateway.
IPP allows printing from virtually anywhere using Internet or
Intranet access. More Information...
The DocuSP gateway provides the ability to:
Generate a list of capabilities for a particular printer
Send a print job request to a selected group
Query any queue or job
Instruct the printer to retrieve the document to be
printed
Check on the progress of a particular print job
Cancel and/or purge a previously submitted print job
Support streaming if the designated queues input
value is set to Stream. A job can start printing before all
document data has been transferred
Provide a notification from the printer in case of
problems with the job
Provide sufficient security for printing over the Internet
Enabling IPP
To enable IPP on the printer perform the following steps:
1. Logon to the DocuSP Controller as a System Administrator.
2. From the Setup menu, select [Gateways...].
3. Select the IPP tab.
4. Select [Enable IPP].
5. Under the Remote Authorization heading, decide whether or
not you wish to let Internet or Intranet users cancel or purge
their print jobs. To enable these capabilities, select the box
preceding the [Allow Job Cancel] and/or [Allow Job Purge]
settings. To disable these capabilities make sure that the
check boxes are empty.
6. Click [Common Settings...] to edit general information
available for display by this printer and select [OK].
7. Click [Apply] or [OK] to save your settings.
