To set up a new finishing device, right-click in the
Device Setup window and select [New...].
to change the profile, select an existing device profile,
right-click, and select [Properties...].
c. Select the Properties and Default Limits FAB:
i.
If you are creating a new profile, enter a name for the
new device you are defining in the Name field.
If you are editing a profile the Name field is editable.
The default name is the name or ID of the device.
ii. Select the finishing device type from the Device Type
pull-down menu. The supported types are the
Signature Booklet Maker (SBM), or External, which
indicates any device other than the SBM.
Selecting SBM will automatically enter the device
properties and timings for a Signature Booklet Maker.
NOTE: If users will be submitting jobs from a client
software package that uses the Signature Booklet Maker
option, only one SBM should be defined for the controller.
Job tickets on which the Signature Booklet Maker is
selected are mapped automatically to the first finishing
device profiled as an SBM device type.
iii. Enter the rest of the properties and default limits
(minimum and maximum values) for the device in the
remaining fields.
Function 1/Function 2: These pull-down menus are
only available if System Specified is the option selected
within the Device Setup Properties dialog window.
Function 1 and Function 2 are defined by the
manufacturer of your third-party finishing device.
Specify the following for each of the special functions:
Line Off turns off the function.
Line On turns on the function.
System Specified turns the function on and off
when specified by the system software, such as in
a DJDE.
Sheet Sequence: Indicates the order in which the
finished sheets may be delivered to the device output
tray: first to last (1 - N) or last to first (N - 1). Select one
or both options.
Side 1 Direction: Indicates whether pages may be
stacked in the output tray face up, face down, or either
way. You can select one or more of these options.
Rotate: Rotate indicates whether the printed page
must be turned 90 degrees before it passes through
the finishing device.
If the Device Type selected is External then the
