however, arbitrarily increasing cache values can lead to
decreased performance or failure to process a job.
MaxFontItem: Maximum memory any single font
character can occupy within the Font Cache.
MaxFormItem: Maximum memory any single form
within the Form Cache.
MaxPaperItem: Maximum memory any single pattern
within the Pattern Cache.
MaxScreenItem: Maximum memory any single
halftone within the Screen Cache.
MaxSuperScreen: Maximum number of pixels in a
super cell that increases the number of gray levels in
halftones.
MaxUPathItem: Maximum memory for any single user
path that defines shapes, trajectories, or regions in the
User Path Cache.
Accurate Screens: The Accurate Screens technology
uses a supercell, or an array of halftone cells, to
provide a very close fit to a requested screen
frequency and angle.
Idiom Recognition: The software scans the
PostScript file. If it finds a blend or gradient created by
one of the popular prepress applications, such as
Quark XPress, Adobe Illustrator, or FreeHand, it
replaces that blend with the superior PostScript
Smooth Shading blend.
d. Select [OK] twice to close the dialog windows.
4. Adjust PCL image quality:
a. Double-click the row in the Raster Image Processor list
which contains the PCL processor and resolution you want
to modify.
b. On the PCL Image Quality dialog, select a Thickening
Control. The thickening controls enhance raster graphics,
resident PCL standard gray patterns, or bitmap fonts
included in the PCL file.
Gray Patterns: The gray pattern control darkens
standard Type 10 tints.
Raster Graphics: The raster graphics control darkens
raster images, such as scanned photos.
Bitmap Fonts: The bitmap fonts control darkens
bitmap PCL fonts.
c. Select an HPGL (Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language)
Minimum Stroke Width to set the line width threshold for
thickening fine lines contained in PCL jobs. All fine lines
with a pixel width less than the minimum stroke setting will
