31.1.11 ip rip authentication text-password

Use this command to set the password string of RIP plaintext authentication. The no form of
this command is used to remove the password string.
ip rip authentication text-password password-string
no ip rip authentication text-password

The configuration example below configures the RIP authentication
mode on the interface serial 0 as md5.

Command Description
ip rip Enable the RIP authentication and specify the
authentication keychain used for the RIP authentication. Only the
key-chain RIPv2 supports authentication.
Define the keychain and enter into the keychain
key chain
configuration mode
Parameter Description
Password string of the plaintext
password-string authentication, in the length of 1-16
bytes.
It is the plaintext authentication by default.
