layered applications. Click Run to run the .NET installation program. The .NET
Framework installation will proceed through a series of windows that require you input.
You must accept the Microsoft End User License Agreement (EULA) in order to install
the .NET Framework.
Note During the .NET installation, you will receive a message that indicates that the
download from the web is complete and that you can disconnect from the Internet.
Disregard this message and allow the installation to proceed. The .NET installation may
also appear to stall. These are normal parts of the .NET installation process.
6. Foundation 3.0 SP2 — Click the Foundation 3.0 SP2 button to install Foundation. The
installation proceeds through a series of windows. In order to install Foundation 3.0 SP2,
you must accept the terms of the End User License Agreement (EULA). Enter your user
name and company information. If you need to change the installation location, select
the custom location; otherwise, proceed with the installation steps.
7. The installation of Foundation 3.0 SP2 will complete with the automatic generation of an
IQ/OQ report. View this report as needed.
8. Remove the Xcalibur 3.0 Core Components CD from the CD drive and restart your
computer after the Foundation installation.
9. Reinsert the Xcalibur 3.0 Core Components CD after the computer has restarted. Follow
the steps listed in Step 1 if the Xcalibur 3.0 Setup window does not automatically appear.
10. You can now install Xcalibur 3.0 by clicking the Xcalibur 3.0 button. The installation
proceeds through a series of windows that require your input. To install Xcalibur 3.0, you
must accept the terms of the End User License Agreement (EULA). Enter your user name
and company information. If you need to change the installation location of Xcalibur 3.0
from the default, select the Custom installation. If not, proceed with the installation.
Note The standard Xcalibur 3.0 installation automatically installs the XDK Developers
Tool Kit. If your laboratory's protocols prohibit this type of installation, select the
Custom option and remove the XDK option from the list of items to be installed. Proceed
with the installation steps
11. The installation of Xcalibur 3.0 will complete with the automatic generation of an
IQ/OQ report. You will not need to restart the PC after the Xcalibur 3.0 installation.
12. Click on the NIST Browser button to install the NIST MS Browser. This functionality is
required to allow automatic searching of libraries from Xcalibur or layered applications.
Install the NIST Browser according to the installation instructions. The NIST installer
will automatically create the required folders for the browser and demo libraries. For best
operation, do not change the default NIST Browser installation locations.
13. This completes the Xcalibur Core Components installation for GC-MS. To install the
GC and MS drivers that are needed for instrument operation, refer to the installation
instructions that are provided with those discs.
