8-cylinder TDI engine (4.2 ltr. 4-valve common rail), mechanics - Edition 12.2013
– Unbolt exhaust pipe (left-side) from starter catalytic converter
-arrows-.
– Remove exhaust pipe (left-side) (press stud of centre bracket
for exhaust system to front).
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
Note
Renew gaskets and self-locking nuts.
– Align exhaust system so it is free of stress
Tightening torques
Component
Exhaust pipe to front exhaust pipe
Exhaust pipe to particulate filter/main catalytic
converter
Exhaust pipe to centre bracket
Pressure pipe

Renew nuts.

Removing
– Release fasteners -1-, -2- and -4- and take off rear noise in‐
sulation panel.
