8-cylinder TDI engine (4.2 ltr. 4-valve common rail), mechanics - Edition 12.2013
– Unplug electrical connector -arrow- for radiator fan - V7- and
move wiring clear.
– Detach ambient temperature sensor - G17- -item 1- from
bracket.
– Unplug electrical connectors -2 ... 4-.
– Remove adaptive cruise control unit - J428- -item 5- and un‐
plug connector.
– Move electrical wiring harness clear.
– Unplug electrical connector -arrow- at front airbag crash sen‐
sor for driver side - G283- and -G284- under headlights at left
and right.
– Move all wires clear at rear of lock carrier.
– Working from wheel housing, remove one nut -1- and one bolt
-2- for lock carrier on each side.
