8-cylinder TDI engine (4.2 ltr. 4-valve common rail), mechanics - Edition 12.2013
– Remove oil filler neck on cylinder head cover (left-side). To do
so, lift tab -1- and turn oil filler neck clockwise -arrow-.
– Detach clamp -1- on reservoir.
– Detach refrigerant line -3- from reservoir.
– Unscrew bolts -2- and remove reservoir from lock carrier.
– Seal off open lines and connections with clean plugs from en‐
gine bung set - VAS 6122- .
– Fit oil filler neck on cylinder head cover (left-side).
– Unplug electrical connector -arrow- going to radiator fan 2 -
V177- .
– Unplug electrical connector (left and right) -arrow- at bonnet
lock and move wiring clear.
