Removing and installing particulate fil‐
ter/main catalytic converter (left-side)
Removing
– Loosen clamp (left-side) -1-.
– Loosen union nut -1- and unclip pressure pipe at particulate
filter/main catalytic converter (left-side).
– Loosen union nut -3- and detach pressure pipe at exhaust
pipe.
– Unscrew temperature sender 2 before particulate filter - G498-
-item 2- from particulate filter/main catalytic converter (left-
side).
– Remove nuts -4- and take out particulate filter/main catalytic
converter (left-side).
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
Note
Renew gaskets and self-locking nuts.
– Install temperature sender 2 before particulate filter - G498-

– Align exhaust system so it is free of stress
– After renewing particulate filter, perform adaption in "Guided
Functions" ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic tester
Tightening torques
