– Insert spring -2- for drive shaft -3- in spur gear drive -1-.
Note
To ensure that drive shaft engages correctly in oil pump, insert
drive shaft separately into oil pump (NOT together with spur gear
drive).
– Make sure that rubber buffers -1- and -3- are bonded into drive
shaft -2- for power steering pump and drive shaft is inserted
in power steering pump.
– Fit spur gear drive and tighten bolts -1 ... 5- in diagonal se‐
quence and in stages.
– Tighten drive chain sprocket for auxiliary drives hand-tight.
– Install chain for auxiliary drives

– Tighten bolt -1- of drive chain sprocket -2- for auxiliary drives.
Remaining installation steps are carried out in reverse sequence;
note the following:
– Install power steering pump ⇒ Rep. gr. 48 .
– Install timing chain covers
– Install drive plate ⇒ page 71
– Bolt gearbox to engine and install engine/gearbox assembly
⇒ page 40 .
– Fill up with engine oil and check engine oil level ⇒ Mainte‐
nance ; Booklet 404 .
