Installing engine

Note
Renew self-locking nuts and bolts when performing assembly

Renew bolts which are tightened to a specified angle as well

as oil seals and gaskets.
Hose connections and hoses for charge air system must be

free of oil and grease before assembly.

Fit all cable ties in the original positions when installing.

– Before installing an exchange engine, check whether the cen‐
tralising bush -arrow- for the torque converter is fitted at the
rear of the crankshaft.
– Before installing an exchange engine, check whether the flat-
section O-ring -arrow- is fitted in the drive shaft of the power
steering pump.
– Check whether dowel sleeves -A- for centring the engine/
gearbox assembly are fitted in the cylinder block; install if nec‐
essary.
