8-cylinder TDI engine (4.2 ltr. 4-valve common rail), mechanics - Edition 12.2013
– Spread out rags round oil cooler to catch escaping oil.
– Unscrew the bolts -arrows- and remove oil cooler.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

Renew gaskets and seals.
Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips
(same as original equipment) ⇒ Electronic parts catalogue .
– Install air conditioner compressor ⇒ Rep. gr. 87 .
– Charge the refrigerant system ⇒ Air conditioner system - with
refrigerant R134a .
– Install intake manifold (top section) ⇒ Rep. gr. 23 .
– Fill up with engine oil and check engine oil level ⇒ Mainte‐
nance ; Booklet 404 .
Note
Do not reuse coolant.

Fit all heat insulation sleeves in the original position when instal‐
ling.
– Drain off coolant
