8-cylinder TDI engine (4.2 ltr. 4-valve common rail), mechanics - Edition 12.2013
– Open quick-release fasteners -1- and remove noise insulation
(front).
– Place drip tray for workshop hoist - VAS 6208- under engine.
– Remove drain plug -arrow- and let coolant drain.
– Disconnect coolant hose -arrow- from coolant pipe and drain
off remaining coolant.
Filling
Caution
Always use distilled water for mixing coolant additives as this
ensures optimum corrosion protection.
