8-cylinder TDI engine (4.2 ltr. 4-valve common rail), mechanics - Edition 12.2013
– Remove bolts -arrows- and detach top section of air cleaner
housing (right-side).
– Unplug electrical connector -arrow- for headlights on both
sides.
– Pull off bonnet seal.
– Pull off retaining clip and remove top coolant hose -arrow- from
radiator.
Note
To prevent damage to the refrigerant lines, ensure that the pipes
and hoses are not stretched, kinked or bent.
– Remove refrigerant line from air conditioner compressor.
– Seal off open lines and connections with clean plugs from en‐
gine bung set - VAS 6122- .
