8-cylinder TDI engine (4.2 ltr. 4-valve common rail), mechanics - Edition 12.2013
– Insert drive shaft -arrow- for coolant pump in the mounting for
the oil pump on engine.
– Fit coolant pump in mounting on sump (top section).
Note
To fit the drive flange onto the hexagon flats of the drive shaft,
use your finger to turn the impeller of coolant pump until the cool‐
ant pump can be pressed on all the way.
– Install thermostat

– Install poly V-belt

Note
Do not reuse coolant.
