E Position
' Hydraulic pressure is applied to the servo valve to engage
the reverse selector with the countershaft reverse gear
and reverse selector hub while the shift lever is in the E position.
' Hydraulic pressure is also applied to the 4th clutch, then
the 4th clutch engages the mainshaft reverse gear with the
mainshaft,
. The mainshaft reverse gear drives the countershaft
reverse gear via the reverse idler gear.
' The rotatio n direction of the cou ntershaft reve rse gea
r is cha nged by th e reverse id rer gea r.
' T h e c o u n t e r s h a f t r e v e r s e g e a r d r i v e s t h e c o u n t e r s h a f t v i a l h e r e v e r s e s e l e c t o r , w h i c h d r i v e s t h e r e v e r s e s e l e c t o r h u b .
. Power is transmitted to the final drive gear, which in turn
drives the final drivenoear.
