Shift Solenoid Valves Test (cont'dl
7. Remove the bolt (A), and remove the shift solenoid
harness connector (B).

8. Measure shift solenoid valves resistance between
the shift solenoid harness conneclor terminals
N o . 1 , N o . 2 , N o . 3 , N o . 5 , N o . 8 a n d b o d y g r o u n d .

Shift solenoid valve B: No. 2 terminal {ORN}
Shift solenoid valve C: No. 1 terminal (GRN)
Shift solenoid valve D: No. 8 terminal (yEL)
Shift solenoid valve E: No. 3 terminal (RED)
STANDARD: 12-25 e
9. lf the resistance is out of standard, disconnect the
shift solenoid valve connector, and measure its
resrstance at the solenoid valve connector.
Replace the shift solenoid valve if the resistance is
out of standard.

Con nect the batte ry positive term ina I to the shift
solenoid harness connector terminals, and connect
the battery negative terminal to body ground
i n d i v i d u a l l y . A c l i c k i n g s o u n d s h o u l d b e h e a r d .
11. lf no sound is heard, connect the battery positive
terminal to the shift solenoid valve connector
t e r m i n a l , a n d c h e c k f o r a c l i c k j n g s o u n d .
Replace the shift solenoid valve if no clicking sound
i s h e a r d .

12. Replace the solenoid harness if the tests results are
oK.
13. Install the new O-ring on the shift solenoid harness
connector, and install the connector in the
t r a n s m i s s i o n h o u s i n g .
14. Installthe shift solenoid valve cover with a new
gasket and dowel pins.
1 5 . I n s t a l l t h e A T F c o o l e r i n l e t l i n e w i r h t h e l i n e b o t t
and new sealing washers. Create clearance with
the jack between the transmission and the front
subframe to tighten the line bolt.
1 6 . I n s t a l l t h e b r a c k e t o f t h e A T F c o o l e r i n l e t l i n e o n t h e
shift solenoid valve cover with the bolt.
17. Check the connector for rust, din, or oil, then
connect the connector securely
18. Remove the transmission jack.
19. Refill the transmission with the recommended fluid
(see page 14-139).
