Special Tools Required

. Driver 07749-0010000

. Attachment, 52 x 55 mm 07746-0010400

NOTE: Refer to the Exploded View as needed during

this procedu re.

Test the alternator and regulator before you

remove them (see page 4-27).

2. Remove the alternator (see page 4-35).

3. Remove the four through bolts

H e a t t h e r e a r b e a r i n g s e a t w i t h a 1 , 0 0 0 w h a i r d r i e r

f o r a b o u t 5 m i n u t e s ( 1 2 9 1 4 0 " F , 5 0 6 0 " C ) .

5. Separate the rear housing from the drive-end

housing by inserting a flat tip screwdriver into the

openings and prying them aPart.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the stator with the

tiD of the screwdriver.

6. Separate the rear housing (A) anddrive-end

housing (B) with the stator (C) attached to the rear

h o u s i n g .
