LFI
ONFIGURATION OF
The serialization delay goal when configuring an LFI mechanism is typically in the
range of 10 to 15 ms. To determine the serialization delay for a specific frame size
on a specific link speed, use the following formula:
Serialization Delay = (Frame Size * 8) / Link Speed
Consider a frame size of 512 bytes on a link speed of 128 Kbps as follows:
Serialization Delay = (512 * 8) / 128 = 32 ms
Fragment delay over MLPPP interface specifies how long it will take for a
fragment to exit the interface, in milliseconds. The appropriate packet size to meet
the specified serialization delay is automatically calculated.
The default value of Fragment delay is 0. In that case, no fragmentation will be
performed. 'no fragment delay' command will set the fragment delay to default
value and hence disable the fragmentation on MLPPP.
Interleave over MLPPP interface shuffles the fragments of data packets together
with voice Packets. Interleaving functionality will be performed by QoS configured
on MLPPP bundle interface.
Note:
To achieve best latency results, it is recommended that all the constituent links in a
MLPPP bundle have similar bandwidth.
