CAC F
UNCTIONALITY IN
Supports CAC for only SIP.
Supports Resource Based CAC with link bandwidth reservation.
CAC can be enabled only for voice traffic that is a part of a priority class or a
priority bandwidth class in a QoS policy. With this link bandwidth available for
voice traffic prior to the establishment of calls on the interface can be known.
If bandwidth is configured for CAC, the bandwidth parameters are picked up from
the corresponding egress QoS policy applied on the same interface. That is, if
calls are to be admitted based on bandwidth, interface should have an egress
QoS policy configuration with bandwidth specified for RTP traffic. Hierarchical
queuing is supported for CAC. Thus, QoS policy should contain some priority
class with bandwidth specified for RTP traffic that is to be allowed. Both absolute
and percentage bandwidth is supported.
If bandwidth is not configured, call admission decision is based solely on call-
threshold and vice-versa.
If bandwidth is configured, and egress QoS policy is not applied, i.e., CAC does
not have any information about QoS bandwidth availability, calls are permitted and
bandwidth is not guaranteed. Similarly, if egress QoS policy is applied, but priority
bandwidth is not specified for 'call traffic', then too calls are permitted. In both
these cases, call-threshold parameters are looked up if configured.
