Controllo valvola
Controllare che lo stelo e la superficie
di contatto con la sede valvola siano in
buone condizioni.
Non devono apparire vaiolature,
incrinature, deformazioni o tracce di
usura.
Attenzione
Le valvole non si possono
rettificare.
Eseguire le seguenti verifiche.
Misurare il diametro dello stelo (B) a
diverse altezze della zona di lavoro
della valvola nel guidavalvola.
Verificare la deviazione dello stelo
valvola appoggiandola su di un
riscontro a "V" e misurando l'entità
della deformazione con un
comparatore.
Limite di servizio: 0,053 mm.
Verificare la concentricità, rispetto allo
stelo, della superficie a 45° della
testa, sistemando un comparatore ad
angolo retto con la testa e ruotando la
valvola in appoggio su di un riscontro
a "V":
Concentricità nominale: 0,01 mm.
Limite di servizio: 0,03 mm.
Verificare mediante blu di prussia o
miscela di minio e olio, che la
superficie di contatto (W) tra valvola e
sede risulti di 1,4÷1,6 mm
(1,05÷1,35 mm da nuova). Qualora la
quota rilevata fosse maggiore di
quella indicata procedere alla
ripassatura della sede.
Controllo tenuta valvole
Dopo la lavorazione delle sedi è
importante verificare la tenuta tra
valvola e sede: se la superficie di
contatto sulla sede (S) dovesse
risultare maggiore del tratto a 45°
sulla valvola (W) si potrebbero
verificare problemi di tenuta.

Checking the valve
Check that the stem and the surface
that contacts the valve seat are in
good condition.
There must be no pitting, cracks,
deformations or signs of wear.
Warning
The valves cannot be ground.
Perform the following checks.
Measure the diameter of the valve
stem (B) at various points along the
section that runs in the valve guide.
Check the valve stem for buckling.
Place it on a "V" block and measure
deformation with a dial gauge.
Service limit: 0.053 mm.
Check that valve head band (at 45° to
valve head top face) is concentric to
the valve stem as follows: place valve
on a V block, set a dial gauge at right
angles to head and rotate valve.
Nominal concentricity: 0.01 mm.
Service limit: 0.03 mm.
Use Prussian blue or a mixture of
minium and oil to check that the
contact surface (W) between the
valve and seat is 1.4-1.6 mm (1.05-
1.35 mm when new). Grind the seat if
the dimension measured is greater
than the above limit.
Checking the valve seal
After grinding the seats it is important
to check the seal between the valve
face and the seat: if the seat contact
area (S) on the valve is wider than the
45° band (W) this could lead to poor
sealing.
