3. Install the latch in the reverse order of removal, and
note these items:
• Apply multipurpose grease to each location
indicated by the arrows.
• Make sure the hood opener cable is connected
properly and the hood latch switch connector is
properly connected.
• Make sure the cable actuates the latch before you
close the hood.
• Adjust the hood latch alignment (see step 3 on
page 20-133).
• Make sure the hood locks securely.
• Security system-equipped models: Verify that the
system arms and that the alarm sounds when the
hood is opened.

Fuel Fill Door Opener Replacement

1. Remove the opener knob (A).
2. Remove the front door sill trim (see page 20-58).
3. Turn over the carpet (A) and remove the bolts, then
remove the fuel fill door opener (B) from the floor.
