Gas Generator-Cleaning Backfire Flame Arrestor

To clean the flame arrestor do the following:
1. Loosen the hose clamp at the breather hose at the air
silencer fitting and remove the hose.
2. Loosen the hose clamp attaching the air silencer
assembly to the carburetor.
3. Lift off the air silencer assembly.
4. Clean the assembly in solvent and let dry.
5. Reasemble in reverse order.

CARBON MONOXIDE IS A TASTELESS,
ODORLESS AND INVISIBLE GAS
THAT CAN CAUSE DISCOMFORT,
SEVERE ILLNESS, AND EVEN DEATH.
EXERCISE CAUTION WHILE OPERATING
GENERATOR OR ENGINES
IN CONFINED SPACES
OR AT DOCKSIDE. DO NOT ALLOW
HULL EXHAUST OUTLETS
TO BECOME BLOCKED OR EXHAUST FUMES
TO BECOME TRAPPED
IN AND AROUND THE CONFINES
OF YOUR BOAT.
DURING IDLE & SLOW CRUISE CONDITIONS,
BILGE BLOWERS SHOULD BE USED.
At regular intervals inspect the complete exhaust system
including the exhaust manifold, catalyst assembly, gaskets,
exhaust hose, hose clamps, silencer, and outlet flapper
for cracks, leaks and corrosion.
When the generator is operating make sure all CO detectors
are energized and operational. See the danger warning
above.
Check the exhaust system for the following:
1. Check over any leaks and blockages.
2. Check the silencer and piping for tight connections.
3. Check the hoses for softness, cracks, leaks, or dents.
Replace the hoses as needed.
