HIGH WATER ALARM

The high-water alarm warns the skipper of a possible
emergency in the bilge area. There is an automatic float
switch installed in the center bilge. If the water rises over
a predetermined level the switch sends a signal to the
alarm at the helm which will sound.
If the alarm sounds stop the vessel and turn off the en-
gines. Investigate the problem to determine the cause.
Possible causes are:
1. Leaking engine and stern drive hoses.
2. Leaking around underwater gear (V-drive).
3. Leaking mufflers or exhaust hoses.
4. Hole in hull.
5. Leaking fresh water or waste tank.
