MerCruiser-Circuit Breaker/Fuse Information

The engine electrical circuit provides overload protection
with circuit breaker and fuses in key locations. If an
overload condition develops a circuit breaker will "pop"
and/or a fuse will "blow".
In either case the root cause of the problem should be
found and corrected before replacing the fuse or resetting
the circuit breaker.
In an emergency situation if the cause of the overload
cannot be deter mined, disconnect all accessories
connected to the engine and instrumentation wiring.
Reset the circuit breaker. If the breaker remains open,
the problem has not been corrected.
1. A 50 amp engine circuit breaker protects the engine
wiring harness and the power wiring up to the
instrumentation. Reset the breaker by pushing "in" on the
reset button.

2. Located at the largest post of the solenoid is a 90 amp
fuse. It protects the wiring harness should an overload
occur. It is an epoxy covered fuse for corrosion and
vibraiton purposes. Should this device fail the fuse will
not show continuity with a ohm tester.
