REFRIGERATOR
OVERVIEW
Your refrigerator is designed to operate in the tough ma-
rine environment. It can withstand a heel angle up to 30
degrees for a short time which makes it very adaptable
for marine use. A few tips regarding the refrigerator:
1. The refrigerator runs on DC current. Turn on the
breaker at the ship's AC/DC service panel before acti-
vating the refregerator.
2. Unnecessary opening of the refrigerator door will in-
crease power consumption.
3. Keep the inside of the unit clean and dry.
4. Remove any water that may collect on the shelf under
the freezer compartment.
5. When leaving the vessel for extended periods of time s
turn the breaker off at the ship's service panel. Remove
any food from the unit. Prop the door open slightly be-
fore leaving the vessel. This helps air out the fridge.
6. Note: The unit will keep food cold 5-6 hours without
any DC power providing the food is chilled already.
7. It is important that the fridge compressor/condensor
is well ventilated and that cooler air can enter from the
bottom and warm air can exit the top of the unit. Never
block any of the ventilation areas.

TEMPERATURE SETTING

Your refrigerator is equipped with a manually controlled
infinitely-variable thermostat.
Turn the thermostat clockwise to lower the temperature
and counterclockwise to raise the temperature and to ac-
tivate the on-off switch. A slight spring resistance is no-
ticeable at the on-off switch.

DEFROSTING

The refrigerator requires defrosting when the frost layer
is around 1/8".
To defrost do the following:
1. Turn the thermostat off.
2. Store the food and beverages from the refrigerator in a
iced down cooler.
3. Do not use sharp metal objects to remove the accu-
mulated ice. Let the fridge deice under normal cabin tem-
peratures.
4. Restart the fridge after the unit is completely defrosted.
Be sure to clean and dry the unit.
5. Empty the drip tray below the freezer compartment as
often as needed in the defrosting cycle.
