V-DRIVE PROPELLERS

We have carefully tested and chosen
the propellers to give your boat the
best possible performance and have
allowed for the additional weight in
equipment that might be added to the
boat.
Carry the necessary tools in order to handle an emergency
propeller change. Besides hand tools a propeller pulling
tool for V-drive propellers would be an important part of
your emergency tool kit. They can be purchased at a
marine supply house.
Carry a set of extra propellers and hardware such as
keways, nuts, and cotter keys for emergency repairs.
Always use genuine marine manufacturer replacement
parts which can be ordered from your Regal dealer.
Many times a boater is cruising far from his mooring when
he needs emergency repairs. A facility may be able to sling
your vessel for propeller changing but may not have the
special hardware or correctly sized propellers for your
vessel. Be prepared!
On twin V-drive vessels the port propeller turns in a
counterclockwise direction and the starboard propeller
turns in a clockwise direction. This is to balance out the
torque of the propulsion systems. When removing and
replacing V-drive propellers, be sure to install the correct
rotation propeller on the correct drive.
One way to tell if a propeller is left hand
(counterclockwise) rotation is by viewing the blades. The
blades will curve down to the left when looking at the
propeller installed correctly on the shaft..
A right hand propeller (clockwise) rotation blade will
curve down to the right when looking at the propeller
correctly installed on the shaft.
NOTICE
NEVER CONTINUOUSLY RUN WITH A
DAMAGED PROPELLER SINCE
V-DRIVE, SHAFT AND/OR ENGINE DAMAGE
COULD RESULT.
DANGER
