OVERCURRENT PROTECTION

20 Amp
Breaker
are protected by a main breaker (Mercruiser) with a push
button or a "flag style" reset breaker mounted on the
engine or a breaker/relay box (Volvo). On Volvo units
each breaker or relay is listed by position on the cover
diagram. If a breaker "pops" or a fuse "blows" figure out
the reason why before resetting or replacing it.
Refer to the maintenance chapter for more information.
Individual switches located at the starboard helm are
protected by a circuit breaker located below the dash.
Note: In an emergency, when you need to run the engine and the
fault for the overload can not be found and corrected, disconnect or
turn off all engine accessories and gauge wiring. Reset the circuit
breaker. If the circuit breaker remains open, the overload has not
been eliminated. The fault must be further investigated. Contact
your closest Regal dealer or marine professional.

INSTRUMENTATION

The helm station is equipped with a complete set of
instruments (called gauges) to monitor the condition of
the engines. Close observation of the gauges is the
responsibility of the captain while cruising. Periodically
scan the gauges for the appropriate meter levels including
the depth gauge. It may save the engines or vessel from
damage.
Become familiar with all the gauge functions especially
their safe limits while cruising. The following pages
introduces the gauges and related instrumentation. Gauge
deflection (movement) is very similar to automobiles.
