Volvo-Replacing Fuel Filter

Fuel Filter
The engine fuel filter is a cartridge spin-on type This fine
mesh filter traps water and impurities in the fuel system
which helps prevent injector problems.The filter needs
to be replaced at least once per season to avoid risk of
fire or explosion.
Note: Be sure to use the proper containers to catch any
fuel spillage. Dispose of used fuel containers and rags in
an environmentally friendly fashion. Never leave fuel
contaminated rags on board the vessel.

SPARKS INTHE ENGINE COMPARTMENT!
VENTILATE THE COMPARTMENT
AT ALL TIMES!

MAKE SURE ALL BATTERY BOOTS
ARE SECURED TO AVOID ANY
TOOL ARCING WHILE IN THE ENGINE
COMPARTMENT.
To change the fuel filter do the following:
1. Turn off the battery switch. Remove the keys from the
ignition switches.
2. Using the proper spanner wrench remove the fuel filter
by turning it counterclockwise. Use exact replacement
Volvo filters.
3. Lightly lubricate the new fuel filter gasket with clean
engine oil.
4. Install the new filter following the directions on the
filter.
5. Clean up any spilled fuel.
6. Turn on the battery switch.
7. Run the blowers for at least 5 minuteswhich will assist
in ventilating the engine compartment.
8. Start the engine and check for leaks.
9. Smell for fuel fumes in the bilge.
