ELECTRONICS-VHF RADIO W/FIST

Location
The Ray 215 VHF has been built to withstand the harsh
marine environment and features the following:
1. Digital Selective Calling for individual ship's calls, all ship's
calls and distress calls built into the microphone.
2. Submersible fist style microphone with 16/9 button.
3. Easy to use dedicated keys. Rotary knobs for channel,
volume and squelch adjustments.
4. Dual station option.
The VHF radio is protected by a 10 amp breaker located on
the panel beneath the steering wheel. If the breaker should
"pop" find the root cause of the problem before resetting it.
Equipment Operation

CONTROLS-OVERVIEW

Several of the front panel keys at the base station serve
multiple purposes. For the most part, the function indicted
on the first line of the key is accessed by pressing and
Fist
releasing that key. The function indicated on the second
Microphone
line of the key is accessed by pressing and holding down
the key for 2 seconds.

1. CH (Channel Selection Knob)

This knob selects the active channel. Turning the knob
clockwise increments the channel number. Turinging the
knob counterwise decrements the channel.

2. VOLUME/PWR Knob

This knob switches power on and off and controls the
audio volume. From the OFF position, rotating the knob
clockwise until it clicks powers on the radio. Continuing
to turn the knob colckwise, the volume increases. Rotat-
ing the knob counterclockwise, the volume decreases.
Continuing to turn the knob counterclockwise, the unit
clicks off.
3. SQUELCH Knob
This knob controls the squelch sensitivity level. Rotating
the knob clockwise increases the squelch level. Rotating
the knob counterclockwise decreases the squelch.
