REFRIGERATOR
The refrigerator periodically needs the compressor coils
cleaned. To accomplish this task, make sure the
refrigerator circuit breaker is off and all food cleared out.
You need to remove the 2 screws through the top of the
cabinet and the 4 screws inserted in the bottom of the
refrigerator. To access the 4 bottom screws, remove the
drawer beneath the refrigerator and use a stubby Phillips
screwdriver. Once all the screws are out, you will be able
to access the coils at the rear of the unit by pulling theunit
out of the cavity. You should be able to disconnect the
plug at this point. Set the unit on a stool to clean the coils
using a soft brush. Reinstall.
A good time to clean the inside is after defrosting the
refrigerator. Once it is to room temperature, clean all
surfaces and trays with a soft cloth and mild cleaner. This
will help remove any odors. After the unit is turned back
insert a small amount of baking powder to help move
any odors produced by stored food.
When leaving the boat for extended periods make sure
the circuit breaker is off, all material removed from the
refrigerator and the door is wedged open.

REFRIGERATOR/ICEMAKER COMBO
Before performing any maintenance work on the
refrigerator turn off the icemaker breaker at the ship's
AC panel.
Never cover the ventilation openings of the refrigerator.
Never connect a battery charger directly to the refrigerator.

TO DEFROST THE REFRIGERATOR:

1. Turn the unit off at the ship's AC panel.
2. Remove all products from the interior.
3. Remove the ice bucket and discard ice.
4. Place a towel or other absorbent material on the bottom
of the ice bin and bottom of unit.
5. You can speed up the defrost process by filling the ice
bucket with warm water, not hot, and place the bucket
back into ice maker housing on the towel or other
absorbent material and close door to unit.
6. After approximately 1 hour, remove the ice bucket and
discard the water.
7. Allow the frost to completely melt naturally. Clean the
interior and ice bucket using a mild non-abrasive detergent
and warm water solution applied with a soft sponge or
non abrasive cloth.
Note: Do not use any solvent-based or abrasive cleaners.
8. Dampen a soft sponge or non-abrasive cloth in clean
water and wipe the cabinet interior and ice bucket to
remove any detergent residue. Rinse the sponge or cloth
in clean water and repeat as needed until the cabinet and
ice bucket are clean, then dry interior with a clean dry
cloth. Do not place ice bucket in dishwasher.
9. When interior is dry, energize the unit. To safeguard
against contaminants in ice, discard the first 3 batches of
ice after defrosting.
