Volvo- Checking V-Drive Engine Mounts
The engines are placed in the boat on a set of metal or
wooden platforms called mounts. These rubber isolation
mounts keep the engine from moving laterally and
athwartships (right angles to the center line). The mounts
help reduce the vibration caused by the engine and drive.
Periodically, the mount hardware should be checked for
tightness. There are 4 mounts on each engine/V-drive
propulsion package.
Use a 1/2" drive ratchet and socket. Tighten each mount
bolt to the correct torque.

Volvo- Checking V-Drive Engine Exhaust System
The exhaust system needs to be checked periodically for
the following:
1. Water leaks
2. Corrosion or blockage in the exhaust manifolds or risers.
3. Loose hose clamps.
4. Burned hoses.
5. Deteriorated hoses.
Check the gasket B between points A & C for corrosion.
If the walls look thin or corroded replace the components.
Water can be injested into the engine if this area is
damaged.
Any type of exhaust leak must be repaired before operating
your vessel because of carbon monoxide poisoning.
