OVERBOARD DISCHARGE PUMP
(MACERATOR)
The overboard discharge pump (macerator)) can be used
to pump out the holding tank in international waters.
When the monitor panel key is energized to the full start
position, the macerator engages to pump the tank waste
overboard. Again, make sure it is legal to pump the waste over-
board before you start the operation. Also, open the waste
seacock located in the sump. The pump can be discon-
nected from the 2 union fittings that hold it for mainte-

nance purposes.
The pump is rated for 40 minutes continuous operation.
Do not flush paper or feminine hygiene products into the
waste system. Keep toilet tissue usage to a minimum. Do
not use bleach or toilet cleaners in the waste system. Use
only maine approved products. Rinse and flush the hold-

ing tank after each pump out. This will dilute any residual
waste, and help prevent blockage and reduce odors.

Equipment Operation
The macerator is protected by a 7.5 amp fuse located in-
line at the pump itself. For extended cruising it is recom-
mended to carry extra pump fuses along with an extra
impeller. The impeller grinds up the waste as it passes
through the macerator.
