"STRATAGLASS" CLEAR VINYL CARE-
USED ON HARD TOP OPTIONS
A special feature used with Regal hardtop models is the
clear vinyl called "Strataglass". This high quality product
used on our hardtop options features a scratch resistant
coating, near-perfect visual clarity, resistance to fallout,
runoff and overspray besides longevity over other types
of clear vinyl canvas.
Useonly the products and procedures recommended by
Strataglass. These include IMAR Yacht detailing prod-
ucts sold by dealers only. You can locate the closest retail
dealer at info@I-LOG.net or call Integrated Logistics, Inc.
at 703-330-4693.
"STRATAGLASS" DO'S AND DON'TS
Please read and understand the following information re-
garding Strataglass. The manufacturer recommends using
only IMAR Strataglass protective polish, IMAR Strataglass
protective cleaner, and mild soap (preferably IMAR yacht
soap concentrate) on Strataglass.
Under no circumstances use other harsh cleaning prod-
ucts like Simple Green and Orpine which will dull the
curtains quickly.
NEVER use a wash and wax product on Strataglass.
Using any other products will void the factory warranty.
Use of Rainex on Strataglass appears to work for a short
time but then dulls the surface and presents and "orange
peel" look. Do not use Rainex.
Use of cleaners, polishes, scratch removers, or any other
product made for regular, uncoated vinyl will damage
Strataglass. Do not use these products.
Do not handle Strataglass (or any other vinyl) with
sunscreen on your hands. This will permanently cloud the
vinyl where handled.
"STRATAGLASS CARE"
New: 3M Adhesive remover may be used to remove any
glue. Final clean with IMAR Strataglass protective
cleaner. Use IMAR Strataglass protective polish as the
final step to provide a base protection and good water-
shed.
Use IMAR Strataglass protective polish every 2 to 3
months (every 4 to 6 weeks in areas of high fallout). In
the interim, use IMAR Strataglass protective cleaner
frequentlly.
Note: All new vinyl can easily get impressions in itself. If
possible leave new enclosures extended in place. If com-
pletely removed, enclosures must be interleaved with ei-
ther acid-free paper (available from framing shops) or
oldsheets (best choice) to prevent "pooling" in the glass.
Vinyl seasons over time and becomes less impression-
able. Roll all curtains down and fasten in place nightly to
keep perfect appearance.
Cleaning: Flush thoroughly to cool the surface and rinse
away environmental abrasives. Wash with IMAR Yacht
Soap Concentrate, or other equally gentle and high qual-
ity soap. Do not use Simple Green, Orpine or any other
harsh cleaner as they will dull the surface. Apply the soapy
water to the clear vinyl section of the curtain with spe-
cial prupose washing mitt or soft cotton cloths. Thor-
oughly rinse the soapy solution with fresh water and com-
pletely dry the curtains with a high quality chamois
(Swobbit.com makes several tools to make these tasks
easier).
Your clear vinyl hardtop curtains should be washed when-
ever your boat is washed. After washing the curtains, ap-
ply IMAR Strataglass protective polish sparingly with small
clean soft cotton cloth. Allow the polish to dry and then
remove with a clean soft cotton cloth. Finally, light buff
to a sparkling shine. For routine maintenance between
polishing, use IMAR Strataglass protective cleaner. In-
sure the clear vinyl panels are free of abrasives. Very
lightly mist a soft dry cloth. Lightly and briskly rub a
manageable area and then lightly buff dry with another
clean cloth.
