DTC Troubleshooting
Step
1
DTC check
1) Clear DTC referring to "DTC Clearance".
2) Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
3) Turn ignition switch to ON position and recheck DTC.
Is DTC P0602 or P1702 still detected?

DTC P1723: Range select switch malfunction

2. "3" position switch
DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area
DTC detecting condition
"3" position switch ON signal is inputted although transmission range
sensor signal is inputted P, R, N or L range.
(1 driving cycle detection logic)
DTC Confirmation Procedure
1) Clear DTC.
2) Start engine and then shift select lever to each of "P", "R", "N" or "L" ranges for 10 seconds each.
3) Check DTC.

Was "A/T System Check" performed?

Check "3" position switch signal
1) Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC with ignition switch
turned OFF.
2) Turn ignition switch to ON position and check "3"
position switch signal display on SUZUKI scan tool when
shifting select lever to each range.
Does indicate "3" position switch OFF when shifting select
lever to "P", "R", "N" and "L" range?
