16.2 Layer 2 VLAN Configuration
16.2.1 Add/Delete VLAN
VLAN is a switch network that is divided by functions, projects, or application without considering their
physical location. VLAN and physical LAN have similar attributes. With VLAN, users may divide
terminals in different physical LANs into one VLAN. One VLAN can have multiple ports. All unicast,
multicast, and broadcast data packets can be transferred or diffuse to terminals in the same VLAN.
Each VLAN is a logical network. When a data packet is sent to another VLAN, it has to pass through
routers or bridge forward.
Use the following commands to establish VLANs:
[no]vlan id
name str
Exit
The following command will add VLAN whose ID is 200.
[DEFAULT@lns /config/]#vlan
